Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - The new president of Moldova’s Constitutional Court (CCM), Domnica Manole, says that the present composition of the High Court did not allow interferences of the political factor and the criticizing of the CCM’s decisions on behalf of high-ranking officials is dangerous.
Domnica Manole today held a news briefing, during which she said that the present composition of the Constitutional Court did not allow the interference of the political factor with its work. ‘’The Constitutional Court communicates with other state authorities only through acts issued,’’ Manole said. At the same time, the CCM president recommended that the officials hold only public discussions and in the presence of all constitutional judges. ‘’Other forms of discussion harm the authority of the Constitutional Court,’’ Manole stressed.
Also, the president of the Constitutional Court noted that ‘’the doubts and public criticism on behalf of high-ranking state officials are dangerous for the rule of law state and for the supremacy of the Constitution.’’ ‘’This criticism inspire people with distrust in the state’s institutions, distrust in the work of the state and district in future,’’ Domnica Manole stressed.
Domnica Manole was elected to the office of president of the Constitutional Court on 23 April, after the former CCM president, judge Vladimir Turcan had received vote of no confidence on behalf of the Court’s magistrates.
