Moldovan public sector employees to remain in forced vacation till 4 May

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - The public sector employees will stay at home during the next week too, till 4 May – a period due to be remunerated. This stipulation does not refer also to the employees of the state’s institutions who provide services, under a decision by Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations, which held a meeting today.  

„The employees of the Public Services Agency, National Social Assistance House and National Health Insurances House, National Employment Agency and others will go to work. The rest of the public sector employees might resume working as of 4 May, if certainly the epidemiological situation allows this,’’ Prime Minister Ion Chicu said at the end of the meeting.  

Just as till present, all public sector structures will be in vacation, excepting those from the medical field, public health, defence, maintaining public order and security sectors.  

Also, the next days are working for the education institutions of all levels, public and private, which will hold online classes, as well as for the employees who are organized to carry out distance work.

The heads of the public sector subdivisions have right to summon to work a limited number of employees, necessary for ensuring and maintaining the working process, which is urgently necessary.

The PM appealed to the residents to observe all instructions by the Commission for Emergency Situations, in order to overcome the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible.  

As many as 857 samples have been investigated in Moldova in the last 24 hours. A number of 3,110 coronavirus cases are confirmed today in all.
