Moldova's Commission for Emergency Situations holds meeting

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today led an online meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The CSE members considered effects of the measures undertaken on the process of spread of the infection. The participants in the meeting considered the evolution of the number of cases confirmed, effects of the quarantine regime in the concerned settlements, effects generated and the capacity of the public health system to manage the flow of patients. Specialists found out the enhancement of the level of observance of the recommendations of social distancing in public places and other personal protection measures.
The Commission examined a string of proposals coming from public institutions and the business environment and approved a set of proposal of adaptation of some economic activities.
Thus, the CSE members ruled that the period 27-30 April be declared as days-off.
At the same time, the Commission decided the exemption from the value added tax (VAT), customs duties and customs procedures for a consignment of medical products provided to Moldova by the government of Turkey to combat the COVID-19 epidemic.
At the same time, CSE approved a list of charter flights for the next week, meant to bring Moldovan citizens home.
