Earthquake hitting Romania felt in Moldova too

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 degrees on the Richter open scale occurred in the Vrancea seismic region, Galati county, last night at 1:04 local hour, reads information published by the National Institute of Research and Development for Earth Physics of Romania (INCDEP), according to the AGERPRES Romanian news agency.
The earthquake was felt in Moldova too. The seism took place at a depth of 23 km nearby the following cities: 66 km to the north-west from Galati, 79 km to the north-west from Braila, 87 km to the south-east from Bacau and 142 km to the south from Iasi.
According to AGERPRES, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 degrees occurred in the Vrancea county on 19 April at 7:16 local hour, reads information published by INCDEP.
In April this year, 22 earthquakes with a magnitude between 2 and 3.8 degrees were recorded in Romania.
In 2020, the strongest earthquake took place in the Vrancea county at a depth of 121 km on 31 January. The seism had a magnitude of 5.2 degrees and was felt in Bucharest and Chisinau.
