Law on attraction of IMF's foreign state loan enters into force in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - The decree on the promulgation and the law on the attraction of the state foreign loan on behalf of the International Monetary Fund today was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) and entered into force.
IMF will provide Moldova with a loan worth about 234 million dollars. They money will be used for financing the state budget deficit.
Moldova will attract a loan amounting to about 156 million dollars through the Quick Finance Instrument. The interest is of 1.5 per cent, with a grace period of 3 years and 3 months and a reimbursement period of 1 year and 9 months. The loan’s maturity is 5 years. Additionally, Moldova will pay a one-off commission of 0.5 per cent of the sum.
Through the Quick Credit Facility, Moldova will access a loan worth about 78 million dollars on behalf of IMF. The interest is zero per cent, with a grace period of 5 years and 6 months. The loan’s maturity is of ten years.
