As many as 104 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 104 cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been registered in Moldova in the last 24 hours, after 594 samples were investigated. One case is of import and 103 – with local transmission.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, there are 3,408 people infected with COVID-19. At the same time, another 5 cases of infection were confirmed in the Transnistrian region today.

Twenty four out of the today’s cases are medical employees: medical assistants – 12, auxiliary staff – 10, pharmacists – 1, physicians – 1. At the same time, another two deaths caused by the COVID-19 infection were recorded today. It is about a 78-year-old woman from the Orhei district, hospitalized in the district hospital on 3 April and a 70-year-old man from the southern Comrat city, put in the city’s hospital. Ninety six deaths have been registered in Moldova since the beginning of the pandemic.

State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
