Moldova marks State Flag Day

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldova marks State Flag Day on Monday. The tricolor was officially designated the state flag on 27 April 1990 by MPs of the first Parliament, being hoisted on the same day on the building.
According to the head of the Public Association Parliament 90, Pintilie Pârvan, 30 years ago, on April 27, the first laws were adopted, the State Flag, and on this day, Mircea Snegur was elected chairman of the Supreme Soviet and the transition to the European time zone has been approved.
State Flag Day was set up by the Parliament on 23 April 2010. The tricolor was officially designated the state flag on 27 April 1990 by MPs of the first Parliament, being hoisted on the same day on the building of the legislative forum. In 2012, on the occasion of the State Flag Day of the Republic of Moldova, marked for the third time, in the Grand National Assembly Square in Chisinau, a huge flag was hoisted, 7 × 3,5 meters, in a solemn ceremony.
The state flag is a major official symbol of sovereignty and independence of Moldova. The state flag represents a rectangular canvas, with the ratio between the height and length of the canvas of 1: 2, equal vertical tripartite, in blue, yellow and red, and having in the middle of the yellow field the image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova.
