Moldovan PM attends joint meeting of top leadership

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- The Prime Minister participated today in a joint meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Greceanii, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier said that today we mark 10 years since the signing of the strategic partnership with Romania. During this time, the Republic of Moldova has benefited from Romania's support in the European integration process and several joint projects have been carried out. Currently, Romania has become the largest economic partner of our country.
Chicu thanked the Romanian government for assistance to Moldova in the modernization of education institutions, student transport, energy interconnection and others.
He spoke about the development of cases of Covid-19 infection. Statistics show that the tactic of managing the epidemiological situation is the right one. This allowed decisions to be made to adjust economic processes to new realities.
He spoke about the problems faced by some Moldovan citizens, who have tried to reach the Republic of Moldova by car unauthorized by the MAEIE and were stuck on the road. Citizens from abroad were urged not to start with unauthorized flights and to consult the teams of the Embassies of the Republic of Moldova. The government has organized a lot of flights, which offer tickets at a similar price, or even cheaper than car racing. Traveling by bus presents an increased risk of transmitting the infection and epidemiological experts categorically do not accept it.
Chicu talked about the law package of anti-crisis fiscal measures and the Law on amending the state budget. The premier voiced confidence that the political forces will show wisdom and put the interests of society and the national economy above political interests. The cabinet will continue to identify financial sources on favorable terms, aimed at reviving the national economy and supporting the agricultural sector facing drought losses. The authorities keep the goal of industrializing the national economy, by building industrial sites in the country's districts.
