Moldovan president meets representatives of companies in IT, communication sector

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a meeting with members of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Companies in the Information Technologies and Communication Sector (ATIC), the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state initiated this meeting, in order to learn from the first source the problems faced by the Information Technologies and Communication (ITC) sector from Moldova, in conditions of the pandemic. ‘’We understand that absolutely all sectors have been and will be hit by this crisis; yet, the crisis is also a challenge and we wanted to consider the obstacles found in the process of implementation of IT technologies in diverse sectors, as well as to identify solutions to overcome them,’’ the Moldovan president said.
The interlocutors were unanimous in the opinion that no state had been prepared for the pandemic, which showed the need of speeding up the processes of implementation of information technologies in diverse sectors: education, trade, medicine, distance management, etc. The ITC representatives expressed willingness to get involved in the activity of removing obstacles in this process.
In the end of the meeting, Igor Dodon asked the ITC representatives to work out a string of concrete proposals on the amendment of the regulatory legislation, in order to make progress on the concerned dimension and ensure the promotion of Moldova’s digital agenda.
