Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM), in a today’s press release, informed that it had at its disposal a ten-day period to announce the date, time and place of the session, during which CCM will consider the notifications submitted by more MPs on appealing the Law No 57 from 23 April 2020 on the ratification of the agreement between the governments of Russia and Moldova concerning the 200-million-euros-worth loan.
“We communicate the fact that all public sessions of the Court are announced in advance, with a reasonable period between the date of the announcement and the effective holding of the session. The reasonable period of time is usually ten days,’’ the communiqué reads.
Three notifications on the conditions for the providing of a loan worth 200 million euros, contracted by Moldova from Russia, were submitted to the Constitutional Court. The parliamentary opposition considers that the agreement on the providing of this loan would contain disadvantageous conditions for the Moldovan state. Prime Minister Ion Chicu considers that these financial resources are absolutely necessary for reviving the national economy.
President Igor Dodon has earlier said that the constitutional judges would hold a session to examine this case on 28 April.
The reasonable period for announcing the date when the lawfulness of the ratification of the agreement with Russia will be judged expires on 4 May.
