Moldovan PM chairs meeting of Single Command Centre of emergency state

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a meeting of the Single Command Centre of the emergency state. The participants in the event heard reports by the leaders of the public authorities and institutions involved in the management of the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed that employees of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) were involved in activities of monitoring the observance of the regime of self-isolation of about 14,600 people and almost 40,000 people under supervision. The Border Police registered the entrance of 926 people in Moldova.

No religious services were held in 816 churches; in 559 churches, services were officiated only by priests and another one or two persons. In 5 churches, services were held with the participation of up to ten people and the police initiated contravention procedures.

Interior Ministry employees patrol public places and monitor the observance of the social distancing requirements.   

Policemen, jointly with military ensure the maintenance of the quarantine regime in seven settlements; Soroca city, Stefan Voda town, Talmaza village, Stefan Voda district, Glodeni town, Branzeni village, Edinet district, the settlements Etulia and Cismichioi from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.

Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed about the investigation of samples collected from 367 people, of which 73 infection cases were confirmed, all with local transmission. The settlements with most cases confirmed are Chisinau – 31, Cahul district – 8, Taraclia - 4, Straseni – 3, 18 cases on the left bank of Dniester.    

As many as 16,533 people have been tested so far and 3,481 infection cases were confirmed.   

Physicians have treated 925 people infected with COVIOD-19 till present. A number of 101 persons died of the new coronavirus.
