Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/- Payment of salaries, pensions and other social payments is a priority and will be done without delay. The announcement was made in a statement issued following yesterday's meeting of the parliamentary majority.

Due to the promulgation and rapid publication of the budget changes, which entered into force on 25 April, the Ministry of Finance managed to access over four billion lei offered by the IMF, before these laws were blocked.

"The expenses that according to the budget rectification are to be financed from the means of the state credit from the Russian Federation remain under danger of non-financing. In case of blocking this funding from the Constitutional Court, the government will have to come to parliament with rectification, reducing over 4 billion lei, spending to support the national economy, to create jobs for citizens returning from abroad and some social and investment expenses. Thus, if those over 4 billion lei will not reach the budget, the government will have to give up road repairs, interest subsidies for loans to businesses, the VAT refund program for businesses, the allocation of additional funds for the medical system, to the implementation of measures meant to mitigate the consequences of the drought, as well as to other expenses essential for the functioning of the state in the conditions of pandemic, economic crisis and exceptional situation in agriculture,” it reads.

The same statement sees that the parliamentary majority appreciates and welcomes the external assistance provided to our country by external partners: International Monetary Fund, European Union, World Bank, Russian Federation, Turkey. Also, Chisinau is grateful for the support announced by Romania, at 10 years of strategic partnership with our country, which will provide teams of doctors, masks, medical supplies and medicines in the coming period.

Also at yesterday's meeting of the majority coalition, the need for post-crisis measures and actions was discussed, aimed at relaunching the national economy. Relaxation of restrictions for citizens and the resumption of economic activity in some sectors will be strictly monitored by the authorities. The sides also discussed possible scenarios for this year's educational process.
