Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government has extended the ban on the export of medical masks and disinfectants till 15 June inclusively. The decision was taken at a today’s cabinet meeting.
Under the decision, taking into account the further provision of the domestic needs, in the context of the pandemic, Moldovan producers cannot export medical masks, gloves and disinfectant products.
The decision was taken, given the continuation of the spread of the coronavirus infection internationally and, in particular, in connection with the confirmation of cases in Moldova.
According to the cabinet, ‘’the goal of this interdiction is to protect the lives and health of people, avoid the spread of this infection in Moldova and supply the people’s demands of medical masks.’’
On 11 March, the Moldovan government prohibited the export in medical masks and disinfectants till 15 April, after which - till 15 May. In the decision taken almost one month ago, the cabinet reserved the right ‘’to decide on the reduction or extension of this ban, depending on the evolution of the situation.’’ This right remains in force in continuation.
