Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - A consignment of humanitarian assistance for the prevention and combating of the COVID-19 pandemic was delivered by Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Kestutis Kudzmanas in Chisinau today.
„This is an event which shows the fact how big is the circle of the friends who help Moldova in need. I want to thank the government of Lithuania for the gesture of solidarity and support, which once again shows how receptive the partners from the European Union are,’’ Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea said at the ceremony on the consignment’s delivery.
„It is a happiness to be part in the European support for the Eastern Partnership countries, further remaining a faithful supporter and active backer of the European integration of Moldova – the first state of the world which recognized our independence 30 years ago,’’ Kestutis Kudzmanas said.
The humanitarian aid provided by Lithuania and which was received today by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, is estimated at about 20,000 euros. The assistance consists of 10,500 protection visors for the medical staff, which is in the first line in the fight against COVID-19.
