Moldovan, Slovakian foreign affairs ministers discuss deepening of bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea today had a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Ivan Korčok, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.   

The subjects on the agenda of discussions were focused on the evolution of the bilateral political relations, identifying cooperation projects, the Moldova-EU dialogue, as well as other topics of common interest, among which the measures undertaken by both states to combat the pandemic. In the context, Minister Oleg Tulea thanked his Slovakian counterpart for the valuable support provided by Slovakia to Moldova, including for the financial support of Moldovan hospitals for the purchasing of medical and protection equipment.      

The two foreign affairs ministers voiced satisfaction about the excellent bilateral relation. Minister Ivan Korčok highlighted that Slovakia would continue being an active backer of Moldova’s European integration and Moldova further remains one of the priority countries of the Slovakian development assistance.

For his part, Oleg Tulea stressed that the European integration represented a priority for the Moldovan authorities and the active cooperation within the Eastern Partnership was facilitating the achievement of this goal. The minister also offered thanks for the substantial technical assistance provided to Moldova through the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (Slovak Aid).   

The two officials reaffirmed the will to boost the political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, including through the organization of working meetings, as soon as the situation allows this.
