More than 2,300 people treated of COVID-19 in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 5,745 cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Moldova so far, of which 764 – in the Transnistrian region. At the same time, 64 people were discharged from hospital on 15 May and there are 2,344 patients treated of COVID-19.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 98 patients suspected of infection have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. On the whole, the health condition of the infected people is as follows: 231 – in serious condition (18 patients are connected to apparatus of assisted breathing); 507 – in state of medium seriousness and the other patients are in satisfactory condition.

As many as 1,290 infection cases among health system employees have been confirmed till present, among whom: physicians – 302, medical assistants – 483; doctor’s or surgeon’s assistants – 65, pharmacists – 19, auxiliary staff employees – 421 people.

MSMPS informs also about the registration of another two deaths triggered by COVID-19.
