Over 2,400 people treated of COVID-19 in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 5,934 cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moldova so far, of which 776 in the Transnistrian region. At the same time, 64 people were discharged from hospitals on 15 May; thus, there are 2,408 people treated of COVID-19 in Moldova in all.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 42 patients suspected of coronavirus infection have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. On the whole, the health condition of the people infected looks as follows: 250 – in serious condition (19 patients are connected to assisted breathing); 519 are in a condition of medium seriousness and the other patients are in satisfactory condition.

A number of 1,320 cases of infection among health system employees have been confirmed till present, of which: physicians – 311; medical assistants – 492; doctor’s or surgeon’s assistants – 69; pharmacists – 19, auxiliary staff employees – 429.

MSMPS informs also about the registration of another two deaths triggered by COVID-19. It is about a 47-year-old woman from Ceadar-Lunga and an 81-year-old woman from Chisinau.
