Moldovan top officials convened in meeting

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Ion Chicu attended a meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Greceanii. The officials discussed the evolution of the epidemiological situation, economic effects of restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the epidemic, hydrological drought and agricultural development, and decided on some actions, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Ion Chicu held a briefing and talked about the end of the state of emergency, set up by parliament. Within 60 days, the authorities have taken several measures to combat the epidemic, involving cooperation between several public institutions.
The work of doctors and medical workers, as well as of local public authorities was addressed, and support of donors was appreciated. The premier spoke about the aid provided by the Romanian government and thanked the Romanian medical mission.
The epidemiological situation will continue to be managed by the National Public Health Commission, which has issued a number of decisions on the resumption of economic activities.
The premier said that at the today’s cabinet meeting, a number of measures will be approved to support economic agents, citizens and staff involved in managing the epidemiological situation, as further providing benefit of 16,000 lei to those infected at work.
Chicu said that the address for initiating the insolvency procedure of the Chisinau International Airport manager, Avia Invest company, will be submitted, because of the company's debt to the state worth over 22 million lei. The company insolvency is a good reason to terminate the contract with AIC concessionaire.
"Plenary meetings will be held this week. We hope the priority laws will be approved, I also mean the laws on the second tranche of macro-financial assistance, there are two laws, public procurement of utilities and law on penalties for money laundering. The adoption of these laws will mean the fulfillment of the technical conditions and Moldova will be able to get the macro-financial support from the EU ", he said.
