Moldovan premier chairs cabinet meeting

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu chaired a cabinet meeting today.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, Ion Chicu referred to the need to adopt through law more decisions earlier taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations, as well as the decision to provide one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei to the medical and Interior Ministry employees infected with COVID-19 while fulfilling their job duties, etc. The cabinet approved a string of measures meant to back the business environment on the period of the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic.
Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi unveiled a draft suggesting the imposing of a moratorium of 540 says, till 31 December 2021, on the compulsoriness of returning the payment for the tourist packages paid to tourist companies. The measure is meant to prevent the bankruptcy of tourist companies which transferred the resources to partners from outside Moldova.
The drafts approved by the government will be submitted to parliament for consideration.
