Moldovan head of state has online discussion with president of Azerbaijan

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had an online discussion with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials discussed a wide range of issues on the development of the bilateral relations in all sectors of mutual interest.

In particular, the sides tackled the subject on the joint fight against the spread of coronavirus, which hit the two states. In the context, the head of state thanked the Azeri leadership for the humanitarian assistance provided to Moldova.

Last week, a consignment of 30 tons of assistance was delivered from Baku to Chisinau by a special flight. The batch contains about 250,000 disposable syringes, as well as various types of protection medical equipment.

During the dialogue with the Azeri president, Igor Dodon stressed that the humanitarian assistance provided was the best proof of the friendship and trust relations between the two countries and peoples. The Moldovan president highlighted that, only by joint efforts, the sides would be able to overcome this global challenge concerning the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
