Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Transnistrian side has repeatedly refused to participate in a meeting of the working group for health care, requested for today in format of videoconference at the headquarters of the Moldova-based OSCE Mission, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The working group was to convene today at 11:00, and to bring into discussion subjects on the way the epidemiological situation is managed in Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, access to medical services, right to health and other relevant aspects. Yet, Tiraspol on 18 May evening informed that it would not participate in the meeting, invoking speculative reasons.
In the context, Moldova’s political representative in the Transnistrian settlement, Cristina Lesnic, voiced regret about this defective decision, which does not allow ensuring cooperation between medical experts in the health sector, in order to provide citizens with quality medical services.
It is worth mentioning that the creation of the communication platform for experts belongs to the political representatives in the process of negotiations, in accordance with the regulation of the working groups from 2011.
We remind that Tiraspol also earlier has refused to discuss within the working group for health care and on 10 April, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic asked for the convening of the 5+2 format, to discuss the Transnistrian side’s measures for limiting the COVID-19 pandemic.
