Moldovan PM has discussion with Ambassador of Latvia

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a discussion with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts. The officials exchanged information on the evolution of the epidemiological situation, practices applied to prevent the spread of the epidemic and the economic affects triggered by the epidemic, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Latvia provided Moldova with financial assistance in the field of optimization of the public administration, integrated border management and communication with the civil society.

The sides discussed the opportunity of holding a meeting of the Moldovan-Latvian inter-governmental commission, in order to boost the bilateral cooperation, Latvian investments in Moldova, exchange of experience in the solid waste’s management, etc.

Ion Chicu thanked Latvia for the support provided to Moldova for developing public services and border management and showed confidence that the bilateral economic cooperation had a big growing potential.

In particular, the PM thanked the Latvian government for the assistance provided to Moldova to combat the epidemic.
