Moldova to receive over 12,000 pills against COVID-19 on behalf of Japan

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is to receive a medicine for the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19 on behalf of Japan’s government.
The parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration today approved a notification on the starting of negotiations on an agreement between the Moldovan government and the United nations Office for Project Services on the delivery of the medicine Avigan (favipiravir) as emergency assistance for combating the COVID-19 infection, provided by the Japanese government.
Under the agreement, Moldova will receive a consignment of 12,200 pills of Avigan (favipiravir).
”This agreement reconfirms the states’ will to further contribute to the combating of the spread of coronavirus and the COVID-19 infection pandemic in the world, as well as to help Moldova in efforts to provide the medical staff involved with enhanced protection in the activity of providing the medical services needed for the treatment and combating of COVID-19,’’ reads the document’s informative note.
