Moldovan cabinet approves national programme on flights' safety

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government approved a national programme on flights’ safety at a today’s meeting. The decision to transpose the standards and practices recommended, contained in an annex of Moldova’s Air Code, to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, signed in Chicago in 1944, as regards the state’s safety programme and is correlated with the provisions of the European Aviation Safety Programme, developed by the European Commission.
This programme establishes the framework of regulation needed for the working out and approval of the strategies and policies in the civil aviation safety sector, approval and supervising an acceptable level of safety nationally, by adopting a pro-active strategy of continuous improvement of the safety performances in civil aviation through the elaboration, approval and implementation of the national plan on civil aviation’s safety.
The provisions of the programme are applied to all structures involved in the regulation and supervision of the civil aviation’s safety within the central specialty body in the civil aviation sector, administrative authority for the implementation and carrying out of policies in the civil aviation sector, entity in charge of investigating accidents and incidents in the transports field and the aviation agents from Moldova.
