Germany to further back development projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan government today voted for the starting of negotiations and approving the signing of an Agreement, compiled through exchange of notes, between the governments of Moldova and Germany on technical cooperation on the period 2019-2020.
The agreement represents a Moldovan-Moldovan-German treaty, which will be concluded through exchange of notes between the governments; the authority empowered to sign it is the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The document is aimed at providing additional technical assistance, worth 8.6 million euros, for the financing of more projects underway.
It is about the Modernization of local public services (4.6 million euros); Combating and preventing corruption (2.8 million euros); Counseling Moldova’s government in the economic policy sector (0.7 million euros) and Funds for studies and specialists II (0.5 million euros).
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta, the agreement’s goal is to combat the poverty and for Moldova’s economic, social and ecological development. ‘’Thus, the states commit to carry out a sustainable global development, expressed, to the same extent, by economic efficiency, social justice, ecological sustainability and good governance,’’ the finance minister said.
