Moldovan cabinet holds meeting

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a cabinet meeting, with 21 drafts included on the agenda, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The cabinet of ministers approved a string of appointments and dismissals, among which the appointment of Valentina Buliga as director general of the National Health Insurances Company.
Economics and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean unveiled for approval a draft national programme on flights’ safety. The draft is meant to transpose the standards and practices recommended by the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The national programme on flights’ safety represents a system of regulations meant to manage the safety in Moldova’s civil aviation.
The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI) unveiled for approval a programme on the repair of national public roads and a programme on periodical repair and maintenance of national public roads, local, village roads and streets. The draft sees the earmarking within the first programme of 250 million lei for the repair of 86.3 km of national public roads. The ministry ruled to allocate 1.125 billion lei for the activities within the second programme.
Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta presented a draft on the starting of negotiations and approving the signing of an Agreement between the governments of Moldova and Germany on technical cooperation. The draft sees non-refundable technical assistance worth 8.6 million euros, meant for the modernization of local public services (4.6 million euros), combating and preventing corruption (2.8 million euros), counseling Moldova’s government in the economic policies sector (0.7 million euros) and envisages funds for studies and training specialists (0.5 million euros).
Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu presented a draft, through which the government takes note of the setting up of the Chisinau COVID-19 Centre public medical and sanitary institution. The centre was created under the Instruction No 10 of Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations from 31 March 2020. The Centre’s mission is to detect cases of infection with COVID-19 and subsequently place the patients infected in the medical institutions nominated by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.
The government ruled to transmit a building situated on the Nicolae Iorga Street 25, Chisinau city, to the economic management of the Ombudsman’s Office.
