Food stores working on emergency state period to pay increased local tax in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), at a today’s meeting, voted a 20-per cent increase in the local tax for the economic agents which carried out their activity on an area bigger than 200 square metres during the emergency state period.
Statistics data showing that, during the period 15 March – 15 May, when emergency state was established in Moldova, the food stores working on an area bigger than 200 square metres registered increases in sales of about 30 per cent, represented reasoning for voting this decision.
Also, the municipal councilors found out that a string of essential products had recorded increases in prices by over 20 per cent.
Big food stores are among the economic agents which work on areas bigger than 200 square metres.
