Police launched campaign on activities against road traffic accidents

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/- "Ten days of activities against road traffic accidents" is the motto of a campaign launched today by the National Inspectorate of Public Safety (INSP) of the General Inspectorate of Police. It provides for several actions to ensure traffic safety, to raise awareness and discipline both drivers and pedestrians, in terms of compliance with traffic rules.
"It is a major measure to return to the streets, after a period the police were more focused on actions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. To achieve this, several structures of the national police have joined forces, which will optimize the action aimed to minimize relaxation after the state of emergency ", Daniel Mazepa, head of the Crime Prevention Department of INSP, said.
"The action includes a number of operations, which we previously carried out separately, but this time various activities will be included in a comprehensive plan. We want cooperation, we do not intend to collect fines, the goal of the campaign is to restore discipline in the streets and the laws to be respected ", he said.
In ten days, the police will make summing up that will bring answers to many questions related to road safety.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked at this week's cabinet meeting the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all police subdivisions to take emergency measures to normalize the situation on the roads and stop the traffic phenomena that "are nothing but attempt on the life of citizens".
