Moldovan MPs to be in self-isolation

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today signed an instruction on the establishment of the regime of self-isolation at home for the MPs of the parliament of the tenth legislative period starting from 22 May 2020 till the presentation of the negative tests for COVID-19, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

Under the document, the lawmakers are obliged to ensure the observance of the self-isolation regime under their own responsibility and present the results of the tests made.  

The decision comes, after one MP was detected positive for coronavirus, according to a statement made by the head of the Moldovan Democratic Party’s faction, Dumitru Diacov, in the parliament’s plenum.     

At a recommendation by the parliament speaker, the MPs’ testing is to be carried out from the lawmakers’ personal resources.
