Education ministry proposes to cancel exams at end of technical vocational training programs

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) will propose to the government for approval the draft government decision On approval of the draft law on cancellation of qualification exams at the end of technical training programs, academic year 2019-2020.

According to the ministry, the elaboration of the draft decision is determined by the epidemiological situation, following the spread of COVID-19 infection and its effects on the organization of the educational process.

"In the context of the epidemiological and economic situation in the Republic of Moldova, technical vocational education institutions are unable to ensure the development of students' practical skills and to assess and certify graduates in accordance with the Regulation on organizing and conducting the qualification exam, approved in 2018 by the Minister of Education, Culture and Research.

Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will propose issuing Qualification certificates / Diplomas of vocational studies to students who complete this year technical training programs, according to a special formula.

The final decision on canceling the qualification exams and issuance of documents at the end of the technical training programs 2019-2020 will be taken by parliament.
