Two villages in Floresti district to be provided with water

Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/- In Cuhureştii de Sus and Cuhureştii de Jos villages, Floresti district, the construction-assembly works of a water supply system, financed from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), were completed. These are part of the project Water for life in the Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca districts, implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), and a reception commission evaluated on 26 May the works and found that they were made in accordance with the law.
Following the works, about five thousand inhabitants of the two villages will have access to safe drinking water source. According to Dorin Andros, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM), the event is important both for the beneficiary localities and for the country. At the same time, the MADRM representative said that Floresti services, which will manage the water supply system in Cuhureștii de Sus and Cuhureștii de Jos, is the first operator of this kind in Moldova to expand its services throughout the district.
"We are currently working very actively to work out a new instruction or guide for a new call for project proposals. In the future, we intend to build main aqueducts or connect localities that already have aqueducts to existing highways, to limit the use of groundwater resources, so as to increase the impact of aqueducts, using only surface resources. We are glad that this project is one with a nice ending. I hope that the inhabitants of these localities will appreciate and preserve what has been built ”, he said.
ADR Nord director Maria Prisacari underlined the importance of the vital project for residents. Initially, the subproject from Cuhureștii de Sus and Cuhureștii de Jos was divided into two stages. The budget for Stage I amounts to 14.5 million lei, and for Stage II - 6.7 million lei.
Cuhureștii de Sus and Cuhureștii de Jos are part of the 11 localities benefiting from the project Water for life in the Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca districts, implemented by ADR Nord in partnership with the Moldovan Branch Foundation of SKAT Foundation, implementer of the Swiss Project of Water and Sanitation in Moldova (ApaSan), Floresti Communal Services and partner town halls.
The project amounts to 69.20 million lei, of which 30.17 million lei were requested from FNDR sources, and 32.71 million lei represent the co-financing of ApaSan. At the same time, 6.31 million lei from the total budget of the project represent the contributions of the beneficiary population, local public administrations and Floresti Communal Services, system operator. The ApaSan project provided support to ensure access to quality water services in Zăluceni, Târgul-Vertiujeni, Vertiujeni and Japca.
