Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/- The cost of the project for electronic ticketing in municipal public transport will be at least five million euros, and the project will be implemented in a public-private system, Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said.
"Companies that want to invest in this project must have similar projects in cities with more than half a million inhabitants," he said.
The amount invested by the foreign partner should be at least 5 million euros, as the approximate cost of the project for the electronic tariff payment system in Chisinau is 6-9 million euros, depending on the technologies due to be used.
On 19 May the Chisinau Municipal Council approved a draft decision on forming a working group that will work out specifications for launching the public-private partnership for electronic ticketing in public transport. The working group has a period of three months to submit it for approval.
