Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today met representatives of war veterans’ association from Moldova’s capital, at their request.
The representatives of the Transnistria and Afghanistan war veterans informed the general mayor about the problems they face in relation with the local public administration authorities, including the ones on the non-fulfillment of the court rulings as to supplying war veterans with dwellings, amendment of some administrative acts, which would allow distributing dwellings to this category of citizens, settlement of issues concerning housing and utility matters, as well as the attitude of certain specialized services towards problems invoked by citizens.
Other subjects were dealing with the providing of free of charge medical services, allocation of non-dwelling spaces to veterans’ needs, etc.
At the meeting, the general mayor invited to discussions more representatives of the city hall in charge of the sectors for which the problems were invoked and gave instructions to monitor the situation for the cases tackled.
Ion Ceban came up with a drastic message to the decision-makers concerned: either they solve the current problems set forth by the veterans or resign. Also, the chiefs from the city hall’s housing and utility department and the economy, reforms and patrimonial relations department are to report on the issues unveiled during the dialogue with veterans at an operative meeting due on 1 June.
