Moldovan Food Safety Agency says Central Market satisfactorily prepared for reopening

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) today inspected the Central Market municipal enterprise from Chisinau, in order to find out the level of preparation for the work of the trade unit as of 1 June 2020. As a result, decision-makers ruled that the market was still not sufficiently prepared for resuming the activity and a new verification will be undertaken on next Monday.        

According to ANSA director general, Vladislav Cotici, some preparation activities are still necessary at the Central Market from the capital. ‘’Certainly, there is still work to be done. The managers of the market halls are in full swing fulfilling measures provided for by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) and I mean here hygienization, disinfection, delimiting the respective area -  entrance, exit, in order to correctly manage the flow of buyers due to come to the market,’’ Cotici said.  

The official noted that the degree of preparation for reopening was still not excellent, but maybe described as satisfactory. ‘’We are in full swing of monitoring this and I want to emphasize the fact that, if the measures stipulated in the CNESP decision are not fulfilled, ANSA reserves right to withdraw the authorizations of work, which will make the activity of economic agents impossible,’’ the ANSA head stressed.   

Vladislav Cotici specified that ‘’another inspection is to be made on 1 June, as ANSA elaborated a card with concrete instructions, on the basis on which inspectors will assess the level of preparation for the market halls’ reopening.’’  

CNESP imposes separate entrances and exits for visitors and buyers for the work of the markets in the emergency state in the health sector; the employees/traders are obliged to be supplied with protection equipment; the trade places at the market should be organized with the observance of the distance of two metres between them.
