Ministry of Economy presents Roads 2020 Program

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) has made public the national program Roads 2020, in which the rehabilitation of 906 km of the road is planned. The road repair program was approved by the government in late May, and for its implementation, the state budget law provides for the allocation of about 1.4 billion lei.

The document was worked out under the state budget law for 2020 and includes two sub-programs. The subprogram for the repair of national public roads, for the implementation of which 250 million lei will be allocated, sees capital repair of 86.3 km of roads. Over 1.1 billion lei were earmarked for the subprogram on periodic repair and maintenance of national, local roads and streets. The activities planned under the sub-program involve the improvement of 906 km of roads in about 900 localities in the country.

According to Anatol Usatii, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, the program implementation is expected for July - December 2020. Road sectors were selected according to the proposals of Local Public Authorities level I.

The first tender will be launched on 22 June for eight districts. Subsequently, the other bids will be opened every day, and the last tender is scheduled for June 30.
