As many as 478 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 1,943 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 478 ones proved to be positive. Thus, there are 12,732 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all today. 

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 37 out of the today’s cases are medical employees: 14 physicians and 19 medical assistants. Most COVID-19 infection cases were registered in Chisinau – 149; another 81 cases were recorded in Balti, 22 in Falesti, 16 cases in Ialoveni, Orhei, Taraclia each; 12 in Glodeni, 11 in Drochia, 10 cases in Rezina and Straseni each.  

A number of 417 people infected are in serious condition; 23 are in mechanical ventilation and another ten persons have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours; thus, there are 433 people dead of COVID-19 in all.

Also today, the leadership of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP) informed that the institution’s employees on the last days had carried out more controls on the observance of the rules of protection against COVID-19 and imposed 12 fines worth 103,500 lei. They also ceased the work of more hairdresser’s, drug stores and shops.
