Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon said he is ready to support both the current government and another government formula and will initiate talks in the coming days with the anti-oligarchic parties in parliament.
On his official website Dodon said “he is ready to support both the current government and another government formula in which PAS and PPDA have a more important role, if these parties feel ready to take responsibility in managing the current health and economic crisis.”
"At the same time, the activity of the parliament and the government can be carried out efficiently and in the absence of a formalized political majority, anti-oligarchic parties can agree on which projects are in the interest of citizens and need to be supported. Last but not least, given the desire announced by PAS to hold early elections, I could support such a proposal if progress is made in its implementation and if we are sure that such a solution is in the interest of citizens," he said.
The president said that at present the situation in the parliament is becoming problematic. "I agree that we have a serious problem in parliament, which is becoming less and less representative after a number of MPs have decided to betray voters. Thus, there are several solutions through which we can deal with this crisis in the interest of citizens, it all depends on the dialogue that should take place between the anti-oligarchic parties. I will initiate talks in the coming days with the anti-oligarchic political parties in parliament ", he said.
He noted that the lack of a sufficient number of votes for the current parliamentary majority does not yet represent a political crisis and destabilization, because the current government will continue working anyway even without a stable political majority.
Yesterday evening, another PDM MP said he is leaving the party, thus the parliamentary majority with only 50 seats in parliament.
