As many as 374 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 1,769 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 374 ones proved to be positive. Thus, there are 13,106 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all today.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), seven out of all today’s cases are of import and the rest are with local transmission.

Most COVID-19 infection cases were registered in Chisinau – 125; another 81 cases were recorded in Balti, Orhei – 12, Taraclia – 19, Drochia – 13.

Twenty six out of the 374 cases registered today are medical employees: 12 physicians and 12 medical assistants.

A number of 444 people infected are in serious condition; 27 are in mechanical ventilation and another 11 persons have died of coronavirus in the last hours; thus, there are 444 people dead of COVID-19 in all.

Also today, the MSMP leadership informed that COVID-19 cases had been registered at a Balti-based placement centre, where there are 421 beneficiaries. Fifty samples have been already collected and disinfection and isolation measures were taken. The centre’s staff is to be tested too.
