Moldovan PM checks progress in process of building belt road of Comrat municipality

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu, accompanied by Governor (bashkan) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, today inspected the march of the works of construction of the Comrat city’s belt road, on a length of 18.3 km. The works began in February 2019 and have been carried out at a level of 23 per cent so far. The project’s overall value is 29.9 million euros, provided as loan by the European Investment Bank (EIB), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Ion Chicu highlighted the importance of developing the road infrastructure in Moldova’s districts, in order to enhance the region’s investment attractiveness and improve the residents’ living standards. ‘’We insist on qualitative works and on term. We need investments in the country’s industrialization and the roads represent one of the key elements in this process,’’ the PM said.
The entrepreneur is a company from Turkey and has involved 281 equipments and 400 workers in the process. Under the contract, the works will be finished in February 2022.
Ion Chicu verified the march of the works for rehabilitation of the M3 national road segment Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti, on a total length of about 86 km. The works’ cost reaches 36 million euros. The construction company uses modern equipment, with 87 units and 170 employees involved, most of them local residents. Pavements are set and access to people’s yards is built in all settlements crossed by the road.
The Ukrainian entrepreneur committed to finish the road’s repair till February 2022. Works at the level of 16 per cent have been carried out till present. On the next period, the entrepreneur will start putting the asphalt layer.
