Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - The former director of the MOLDPRES State News Agency, Vlad Darie, on 20 June congratulated the MOLDPRES State News Agency Public Institution, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its foundation. He said that the institution should take over the French model of work and escape from exaggerated statism.
Journalist and political consultant Vlad Darie believes that, on the period when he led the institution’s activity, he tried to escape from exaggerated statism, in order to produce good things. ‘’MOLDPRES must escape exaggerated statism and produce additional value added. For instance, the book of the 2015 year was a MOLDPRES product - Cronica Basarabiei (The Chronicle of Bessarabia) – a textbook of the inter-war press’ history,’’ Darie said.
At the same time, he highlighted the important role of the MOLDPRES State News Agency during the Transnistrian conflict, noting that, through the agency, the voice of the Moldovan state had been heard on the international stage as well. ‘’The voice of the young Moldovan state would not have been heard without MOLDPRES – in those times, the clash between the free media and propaganda was seen,’’ Vlad Darie stressed.
Vlad Darie also said that the status held by the media institution thwarted the work of the journalists and that the founder might apply the French model of activity, which implies public/private partnership in the work of the news agency of the French state.
The MOLDPRES State News Agency Public Institution marks the 30th anniversary of its foundation on 20 June. The Moldpres agency has the task to ensure the production and spread of information, publication and editing of official acts, inform the public opinion of Moldova and from abroad about the state policy and the current activity of Moldova’s public authorities, provide editorial poly-graphic and advertising services, produce and sell photo and video materials.
