Moldovan PM attends ordinary meeting of top leadership

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Ion Chicu attended a traditional meeting of the country's top leadership and discussed developments of the epidemiological situation in Moldova and return to economic activities, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier called on society to show maximum responsibility in complying with epidemiological rules: “It is important that the medical system cope with this jump in the number of cases. The situation is more complicated with medical staff who is exhausted. Therefore, I come with the message to people show discipline and compliance with the rules. Besides places in hospitals, we also need people to take care of us there. We had shortage of medical staff even before the pandemic, and now it is even more pronounced ”.
On 23 June the National Commission of Public Health will hold a meeting to consider the need to extend by one month the state of emergency in public health.
Chicu noted that in the next few days the first batches of medical equipment from the European Union will arrive in the country. The support worth 30 million euros was announced in March and is meant for the 6 Eastern Partnership states.
The government's plan for reconstruction of road infrastructure in the country is being restored. We are working intensively on reconstruction of Chisinau-Giurgiulesti route and road to Vulcanesti. Construction companies have assured that the deadlines will be met. The first auction under the road reconstruction program Good Roads will be held today, and in July the repair works will begin.
"We return to normal daily activities related to infrastructure reconstruction, in parallel setting up jobs and providing income for Moldovan citizens", he said.
