Premier has discussion with Head of EU Delegation in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Head of the European Union Delegation in Moldova Peter Michalko. The officials tackled the evolution of the economic situation in Moldova and EU, in the context of the impact of the epidemiological restrictions earlier imposed, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The sides exchanged opinions on the progress made in the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and discussed the government’s plans on this dimension.

Ion Chicu touched upon the videoconference of the Eastern Partnership’s leaders held on 18 June 2020. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, the heads of the EU member states and of the Eastern Partnership member countries exchanged opinions on the social and economic effects of the pandemic. The officials ascertained that the health systems of all states had been and were subjected to unprecedented pressures.   

The sides discussed the progress made in the process of fulfilling the conditions for getting the macro-financial assistance installment on behalf of EU.
