Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu held a meeting today to review progress in setting up industrial platforms in the country's regions. The goal of industrialization of the country is determined by the need to create stable jobs in districts, open opportunities for personal growth for young people and integrate Moldova in the global regional economic flows.

According to the government's communication and protocol department, the industrialization program involves the creation of 16 industrial platforms, which will give investors the opportunity to build plants in landscaped areas with access to road infrastructure, energy, water supply and sewerage.

Land suitable for setting up 12 platforms is currently being identified and discussions are underway with local public authorities to identify four more locations.

The volume of investments required to connect the infrastructure networks to the identified locations and land planning was assessed.

The premier asked to be taken steps to change the destination of the selected lands and to earmark resources for the elaboration of projects and execution of works for infrastructure connection. Ways of getting involved in promoting investment opportunities in Moldova and attracting large industrial companies to create production in the country were discussed.

"Industrialization is an acute priority. For many years we have been facing the phenomenon of people leaving the country who want to work, especially the intention of young people to leave. They want stable jobs that offer them opportunities for personal professional growth. The country can no longer afford to lose young people ", he said.
