Moldovan PM inspects march of works of roads' construction

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today inspected the carrying out of the works of construction of the Balti-Falesti-Sculeni road. The length of the road is of 54.7 km and the cost of the works is estimated at 50.5 million euros, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM was informed that 60 per cent of the works had been carried out so far. The road’s repair must be completed till late 2020.
The general entrepreneur is an Italian company, which imported more equipments for carrying out the works, including two plants of asphalt concrete. Depending on the road segment, works of constructing drains are implemented, kerb stones are set, the entrances into households’ yards are arranged and asphalt is laid.
On the road Chisinau-Ungheni-Sculeni, the prime minister checked the march of works on construction of the bypass road of the Bahmut settlement, central Calarasi district. The road will have a length of 5.9 km. Sixty people and 18 technology units are involved in carrying out the works. The general entrepreneur is from Moldova and the works of road’s construction are to be finished in May 2021. The cost of the works is 5.3 million euros, provided as grant by the European Commission.
„The works’ quality is priority. At the same time, we will also insist on the term of carrying out the works. It is good for the work to be carried out intensely – employ more people, invest in equipment. In the next years, the roads will be in the focus of the government’s investment attention,’’ Ion Chicu said.
