Moldovan president participates in military parade held on Red Square in Moscow

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon attended the military parade, held on the Red Square in Moscow today, on the occasion of the 75th of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the presidential press service has reported.
The Moldovan president, along with the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, greeted the military from various countries who participated in the parade. They marched on the Red Square, thus marking the joint Victory of the countries from the former Soviet Union and Europe over the fascism.
„I felt a special feeling of pride for the fact that among them there were also 75 servicemen of the Guard of Honour of Moldova’s National Army,’’ the head of state stressed.
It is worth mentioning that the grandfathers of 23 of the Moldovan military present at the parade fought in the Great Patriotic War. Igor Dodon considers that their participation in the today’s event highlights the direct connection between generations and reminds us about the importance to keep the memory of the heroic deeds of our ancestors.
