Regulation on organization of residency education to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - The regulation on the organization of residency education, approved by the cabinet, will be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) on 26 June. Under the ministers’ decision, the regulation’s goal is to improve the management in the residency education sector.
The regulation establishes the principles of organization and holding the contest on admission to the residency education, the way this education is organized and carried out at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the medical and pharmaceutical institutions from Moldova, where the University’s clinics are working, as well as the distribution of residents according to specialties and the employment of physicians and pharmacists.
„The specialties and the duration of the residency education are established by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), in accordance with the Classified List of specialties for the post-university training through residency education,’’ the document reads.
Also, the number of positions and jobs with financing from the state budget for admission to the residency education is set by MSMPS, through coordination with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry and annually approved by the government.
The decision enters into force on 1 July 2020.
