Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/- The activity of the Joint Military Command during the state of emergency until now has been considered by the Joint Control Commission. The issue was previously included in the agenda in a compromise formula, and at the 25 June meeting of the commission, the sides continued debates on it, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Thus, the Moldovan delegation was concerned about the way in which the Joint Military Command worked (or did not work) in the period since the implementation of anti-epidemic measures. Blocking the movement of military observers to collect facts about violations resulted in weakening the Commission's control over the Security Zone and proved the inability of peacekeeping mechanisms to help eliminate illegal checkpoints.
The commission members agreed to allow military observers to collect facts in scheduled and ad hoc deployments about all mobile and stationary posts installed in the Security Zone, and to report the results to the weekly meetings of the Commission.
According to the Moldovan delegation, these actions arising from the mandate of the military observers will allow elucidation and exclusion of the circumstances that made it possible to strain the situation in the Security Zone.
However, a final decision will be taken at one of the following meetings.
Regarding the issue proposed by the representative of the Russian Federation since July 2019 and which involves a comprehensive analysis of the current situation in the Security Zone, the Transnistrian side did not accept it for discussion.
During the meeting, the Moldovan delegation asked the other sides the transfer of administrative functions to the post of peacekeepers No9 in management of Moldova. The post located on the left bank of the Dniestre, near Vadul lui Voda came to public attention after the tragic incident in January 2012, when the life of young Vadim Pisari was terminated.
The next working meeting of the Joint Control Commission will be held on July 2.
