Moldovan PM visits Telita village hit by floods

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Ion Chicu went to Telița village, Anenii Noi district to consider the problems caused by the flood and how they can be overcome, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Due to the recent rains, in Telița the water in the Dniester river increased by 3 meters, and last night the water spilled over the dam. Eight households' gardens, about 10 ha of agricultural land, a section of road, stadium and a young 3 ha forest plantation, all located in the Dniester river valley were flooded.

IGSU is monitoring the situation. Now we need to concentrate our forces in order to pass the big water wave. There is a damage assessment mechanism, the district emergency commission determines damages, subsequently the sources of loss recovery will be identified. Every effort is made to prevent the risk of flooding downstream," he said.

The IGSU management reported that the situation on the Dniester River is complicated, but it is under control. Downstream, in Vadul lui Vodă region the water flow starts to decrease. In Delacău, the water increased by 3 cm, and at the exit from Anenii Noi district - by 11 cm. Tonight, the water will go downstream, and flooding of houses is not forecast. There was a decrease in water in Naslavcea to Dubasari, Soroca and Rezina.

The premier spoke with mayors of the region about the need to create a state fund, through which the APL can access international funds for the development of rural regions. "We are at the final stage of creating this fund. Any project identified for the benefit of society, please forward it, so that we can implement it ", he said.
