Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Ion Chicu inspected the irrigation needs of Ștefan Vodă and Causeni districts, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister visited the capture and pumping station on Causeni irrigation. The public authorities pointed out the need to renovate the station, amid periodic drought recorded in the country.
As an alternative source of irrigation, the local authorities proposed to build a new smaller station, equipped with high-performance equipment. The prime minister harshly condemned the attitude of those who allowed the destruction of the main resort, which had a value of 4 billion lei.
The Crocmaz mayor also pointed out the need to renovate the pumping station in Tudora, Stefan Voda. This will give farmers in four neighboring villages the opportunity to irrigate the land they manage. According to estimates of local public administration, 6 million lei are needed.
The premier asked the district head to send an official letter to the government, describing the region's irrigation needs and solutions to identify ways to carry out the projects.
