Commission for Awarding of National Prize of Moldova holds meeting

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired an online meeting of the Commission for Awarding the National Prize. The participants in the event discussed conditions for the organization of the contest, the process of selection of candidates and the way the Laureates Gala is to be held, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„Even if this year is marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, we will not give up the nice tradition to award prizes to the most valuable people of the nation, who distinguished themselves in the sectors where they work and manage to get Moldova’s fame in the world,’’ Ion Chicu said.
The commission members approved the stages of the contest’s carrying out. The files could be submitted during 1-24 July in electronic format. Starting from 27 July till 7 August, the commission will consider the candidacies and will subsequently sent the Decision to the cabinet of ministers for approval.
Given that the 2020 year is marked by the pandemic, the commission discussed also the possibility to pay increased attention to the medical sector.
Depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation, the formula of organizing the National Prize Gala will be decided.
The National Prize of Moldova has the goal to stimulate the activity of creation and promotion of the authentic values in the fields of science, technologies, culture, art and sport in Moldova.
